Ghost: The Musical, National Tour

Matthew was on the road music directing the national tour of Ghost: The Musical. Book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin, score by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The musical is based on 1990's hit movie of the same name.

The show had its world premiere at the Manchester Opera House in England in March of 2011 and opened on Broadway in April of 2012. The US National Tour opened in Cincinnati, Ohio in September of 2013 and closed in Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 2014, running just over 300 performances. Thomas Caruso (associate director), Ashley Wallen (choreographer), David Holcenberg (music supervisor).

September 2012 - June 2013

Catch Me If You Can, National Tour

Matthew was on the road music directing the national tour of Catch Me If You Can. Score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman and book by Terrence McNally. Catch Me If You Can is based on Stephen Spielberg's 2002 movie which, in turn, is based on Frank Abagnale Jr.'s 1980 autobiography of the same name.

The National Tour opened in Providence, Rhode Island in September of 2012 and closed in Costa Mesa, California in June of 2013, running a total of 246 performances. Matt Lenz (associate director), Nick Kenkel (choreographer), Larry Blank (music supervisor).

July 2013

I Do! I Do!

Matthew played second piano for Laguna Beach Playhouse's production of I Do! I Do! starring Davis Gaines and Vicki Lewis.
October 2014 - November 2014

Big Fish

Matthew will be heading to California to music direct the regional premiere of Big Fish at Musical Theater West. Book by John August and score by Andrew Lippa. The musical is based on Daniel Wallace’s novel and the 2003 film of the same name.

August 2014 - September 2014

The Witches Of Eastwick

Matthew is in his home state of Maine serving as the associate music director for the Ogunquit Playhouse's new production of The Witches Of Eastwick. Book and lyrics by John Dempsey and score by Dana P. Rowe. The show is based on John Updike's novel of the same name.

July 2014

UCLA & US Performing Arts

Matthew will be working with UCLA and US Performing Arts at their Summer Arts Camp for aspiring musical theatre performers.

December 2013 - January 2014

La Revue Des Ambassadeurs

Matthew took some time off from Ghost: The Musical to go to France to play the Cole Porter work La Revue Des Ambassadeurs at the Opéra de Rennes in Rennes, France. With Lisa Vroman, Katherine Strohmaier, David Engel, Doug La Brecque, Valéry Rodriguez, Chœur de l'Opéra de Rennes, and the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne. Larry Blank (orchestrations and musical direction), Christophe Mirambeau, (conception), Patrick O’Neil and Antoine Lefort (additional orchestrations).
